Kia Koup Concept

This stylish entry level 2-door coupe concept from Kia is powered by a twin-turbo direct-injection 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine which pumps out 290 bhp and 289 lb.-ft. of torque. Based on the subcompact Rio platform, the front- drive Koup is directly aimed at such sporty coupes as the Honda Civic Si.

The front of the car features a large lower intake flanked by chromed inlets for the cross-drilled Brembo brakes. The Koup's flanks have sharp character lines, while the rear finishes off with a conventional trunk, giving the car a traditional coupe silhouette.

The Koup's roof is all-glass, giving the sporty interior a light and airy feel. The front sport bucket seats are clad in materials that contrast with the rear seats, adding to the performance aura of this 4- passenger sports coupe. The Koup's instrument panel has a wraparound cockpit design and showcases the 6- speed automatic transmission with steering-column-mounted sequential shift paddles.

Other touches include carbon-fiber accents on the chin spoiler, rear diffuser, headlamp lenses, cowl panel and outside rearview mirrors. The 19-in. alloy wheels also feature carbon-fiber accents on the spokes.

The Koup's independent suspension has variable damping control, and the concept car is also fited with onboard navigation and adaptive cruise control.
